Georgeta Fondos is a local artist and college professor, known for her textile installations and large-scale murals. She started her art career at the age of eleven, when her mother agreed to let her go to an arts boarding school in the Soviet Moldova. She received her education at schools in Moldova, Romania and Greece, followed by her MFA from Florida Atlantic University in 2008.

Amongst the most prominent public murals are the Dome in Rotunda (2009) and the East Curved Wall (2011) at the City of Lauderhill, Terrazzo Floor Design (2014) for the Performing Arts Center of Lauderhill, Fire Fighters’ Mural (2015), Fire Station #87, Oakland, Park, Florida, and Art to End AIDS Mural for the in Broward.
